Hitler
and Usama, History Repeated. Chirac Notwithstanding There
are three kinds of people during these politically volatile times: those who
know history and chose to ignore it, those who are totally ignorant of history
and consequently live a shallow, meaningless existence and then lastly,
Conservatives and patriots like us. The
Liberals and other miscellaneous cowards, who love to “Hate America First”
today, do not understand why the war against Terror is as important to win, as
it was to win the war against Hitler. They chose to ignore history, because they
want to. Take for example, their shining yellow beacon of light, French
President Jacques Chirac who had the audacity to advise President Bush just
before the D-day commemorations at Colleville-sur-Mer that he “should be
careful in not comparing the war Iraq with WWII. History does not repeat
itself.” Not
satisfied, Chirac let out another howler by stating that Democracy should not be
imposed by force in the Middle East. How easily he forgets that we Americans
“imposed” democracy in France, having defeated the Nazi forces of Hitler. I
think Chirac should just thank us and think of how Americans saved his country,
making it possible for him to be President of France. The
French and the Europeans shall always remain socialists at heart and weaklings,
just like their beloved United Nations. They will also be the first to run to us
for help the very day they are attacked like we were on September 11th.
Weaklings don’t think anything of shame, just like we don’t think very much
of breathing air everyday. Appeasement
and dialogue where neither is possible is the most dangerous policy to follow.
How can one negotiate with Usama Bin Laden when he advocates killing Westerners,
Americans, Christians, Jews and Hindus just because they exist? How do Chirac
and his fellow appeasers at the United Nations plan to have a dialogue with
someone who is a narcissistic megalomaniac? Basking
in the glow of Chirac’s jaundiced glow is George Soros. The Liberals love him!
He is the man who thinks we are as bad as the Terrorists who attacked us on
9/11. He is spending millions of dollars of his own fortune to fight the evil
Conservatives. Sometimes
the show of force and strength is the only way to resolve problems and
appeasement is nothing but a sign of weakness. Why do the Europeans and the
Democrats in the United States forget that the easy path is not always the
correct one? One finds it difficult to understand their actions. Chirac and his
ilk fall under the first category. For
the second category, let me present and example of a fairly recent Gallup poll,
which stated that 60% of 18-29 year old adults in the United States do not even
know whom we fought in WWII in Europe. Consequently, they do not care if History
does indeed repeat itself... to them every event is brand new anyway! Their view
of this world is based on what they know about it and unfortunately, that is
very little. These
young Americans simply are not in a position to care about the great sacrifices
made by American military forces in the 1940s. These victims of our liberal
education and liberal media are mostly ignorant of the truths that have made us
what we are today as Americans. As much as we would like to, it is impossible to
turn on a switch and instantly educate the youth of today about the very
important fundamentals. They do not understand why it was important to win
against Hitler and neither will they realize why it is important to win against
Usama Bin Laden. To them, America will continue to remain the cause of all the
problems in the world, while they view Usama and other terrorists to be victims
of our arrogant foreign policy. In
the meanwhile, the least we can do as Conservatives is to continue to support
the people who are not blinded by ignorance. President Bush has correctly
continued to put a strong and unflinching front in the War against Terror. He
cares very little for the polls and what is politically expedient. President
Bush has shown by his actions that he is not going to shy away from the tough
decisions required to start defeating the terrorists at their own game. Under
a Gore presidency, I don’t know how we would have reacted post-9/11. I shudder
to think of that scenario. Lobbing a few missiles into Afghanistan and a
Sudanese pharmaceutical factory is the extent of actions taken by Clinton during
his eight years in the White House. During those eight years, we had five
attacks on us by Usama Bin Laden, starting with the 1993 World Trade Center
bombings. We
most definitely would not have gotten Saddam Hussein out of power and in jail.
We would have most probably spent time groveling before the great Kofi while the
UN spit out more impotent resolutions. Obviously the Democrats don’t think
that 17 resolutions ignored with impunity by Saddam over 12 years are enough to
warrant any action. The
facts of the war against Terror conducted so far are before us to consider.
Unless we are as blind as the left wishes us to be, the truth should be clear to
us all. |
